Released in 1977 and featuring guitarist Robert Fripp. John lennon when recording Double Fantasy said he wanted an album as good as Heroes.  Not a guitar hero album but definately worth a listen.

Must Have Guitar Albums - David Bowie - Scary Monsters

Released in 1980 Bowie had the unfailing ability to change direction and remain currnet. This album featured guitarist Robert Fripp on Scary Monsters, and Fashion with his famous frippahonics.

Must Have Guitar Albums - David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Released in 1972 it's hard for a modern audience to see how shocking it was back in the 70's for an artist to play the part of Ziggy Stardust an androgynous human manifestation of an alien who wore makeup. This album changed the face of rock forever. Without Ziggy Stardust you would have no Duran Duran or Marilyn Manson just to name two.
