Groove Guitars - Gibson Explorer copy

I recently acquired a Groove Explorer guitar with gold hardware and threw neck.
The set up was quite terrible really. Strings a mile high and the pick ups far too low. Plugged guitar in and could hardly hear anything. The tone control for the bridge pick up has to twist anti clockwise which caused some confusion at first.

But after some truss rod adjustment, lowering the action and heightened the pickups the Groove Explorer makes a quite nice little guitar.

It's a shame that a beginner would buy a guitar like this in the shop and find it almost unplayable.
