How To Play Queen - We Will Rock You from the 1977 album News of the World

In this video we look at the Brian May guitar solo that comes in at the end of the song

Video features guitar tab and close up of the riff being played

"We Will Rock You" is a song written by Brian May and recorded and performed by Queen for their 1977 album News of the World.Rolling Stone ranked it number 330 of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004,and the RIAA placed it at number 146 on its list of Songs of the Century. In 2009, "We Will Rock You" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.[4]

Other than the last 30 seconds containing a guitar solo by May, the song is generally set in a cappella form, using only stomping and clapping as a rhythmic beat. In 1977, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" were issued together as a worldwide top ten single. Soon after the album was released, many radio stations began playing the songs back to back without interruption.

Should I Take Guitar Lessons - A Beginners Guide

What You Need To Know
Technically there's no such thing as a self taught guitarist. Figuring it out yourself you still going to need books and videos. Trying to understand all this information on your own is quite a challenge. Lessons really cut through and the student progressing and understanding with immediate effect.

Should I Buy An Electric Guitar or An Acoustic Guitar?

The easy answer is:
If you want to be Jimi Hendrix then an electric guitar.
If you want to be Ed Sheeran then you'll need an acoustic.

What Will I Be Learning
First thing any guitar teacher will show you is chords.
All songs are made up of a progression of chords.

The chord box shows you where to put your fingers so you can strum the guitar.

Do I Need To Read Music?
Many of the greatest guitarists do not read music. This however doesn't mean that they using just pure natural ability.
Learning chords and scale shapes is how many rock guitarists learn to play.
Many guitar tutors use guitar tablature to make it easier to learn your favorite tunes
